*Sakhi One-Stop Center to be more active for women victims of violence*
*District Magistrate directs immediate assistance and effective implementation of all services*

Showing sensitivity to incidents of violence against women, the district administration has taken steps to make the Sakhi One-Stop Center more effective and active. Taking cognizance of complaints received during the Samadhan Diwas, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan has directed the Sakhi One-Stop Center to operate actively and provide prompt and appropriate assistance to women suffering from violence.
The District Magistrate has directed the District Program Officer to ensure the effective implementation of all services related to the safety, protection, and rehabilitation of women at the Sakhi One-Stop Center, located in the Working Women’s Hostel complex near Survey Chowk in Dehradun. He said that necessary assistance should be provided without delay to women affected by domestic violence, harassment, exploitation, or any other form of violence.
District Program Officer Jitendra Kumar stated that the Sakhi One Stop Center operating in the district provides a variety of essential services to women under one roof. The center provides women suffering from violence with vital services such as free medical care, police assistance, psychological and social counseling, rescue services, legal aid, and temporary shelter.
He explained that the center’s objective is to provide immediate assistance to women in crisis situations and provide them with a safe environment. Women are also being made aware of their rights and available government support mechanisms.
The district administration has appealed to women to avail themselves of the Sakhi One Stop Center’s services without hesitation in case of any violence, harassment, or crisis. The administration strives to provide timely, sensitive, and effective assistance to every victimized woman.
