Following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s initiative, the verification of life certificates (life certificates) for pensioners in the state has become simpler and more transparent than ever before. With the use of digital technology, pensioners are now able to verify their life certificates online from the comfort of their homes, saving them from the hassle of visiting offices.
There are currently approximately 1.5 lakh pensioners in the state, while over 22,000 reside in Dehradun. The “Jeevan Pramaan” app and “Aadhaar Face RD” technology are being used to facilitate verification for all of them. Through this, pensioners can easily submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) online.
The Pensioner Facilitation Hall established in the Chief Treasury Officer’s office at Dehradun Court is also conducting continuous verification through DLC. Pensioners are also being trained in Aadhaar upgradation and digital processes here. It is noteworthy that since April 1, 2024, over 184,000 pensioners have been digitally verified at this center.
District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan, while inspecting the treasury on the day he assumed office in Dehradun district, issued instructions to digitally verify as many pensioners as possible, so that senior pensioners can benefit from the convenience of their homes.
Pensioners can also verify themselves from home by creating an operator ID through the “Jeevan Pramaan” app. This requires an updated Aadhaar number and linking the Aadhaar number to a mobile number and the treasury.
Additionally, through the IFMS (Integrated Financial Management System) app, pensioners can check their verification status (active/inactive) online and download their pension statement.
The Treasury Directorate has issued a helpline number: 8899890000 to assist pensioners. For more information, contact treas-fdc-uk@nic.in.
This digital initiative has relieved elderly pensioners of long queues and allows them to verify their life certificates from the comfort of their homes in a safe, simple, and convenient manner.
Pensioner Shrikant Upadhyay, a resident of Dehradun, explained that he received training on submitting digital life certificates at the Pensioner Facilitation Hall, which will enable him to easily renew his life certificate from home in the future. He described this system as extremely useful for senior citizens.
Chief Treasury Officer Neetu Bhandari stated that for the convenience of pensioners, a Pensioner Facilitation Hall has been established in the treasury, where they are trained on the online process. She added that pensioners from other districts who currently reside in Dehradun can also take advantage of this facility.
She appealed to pensioners not to share the OTP received from Aadhaar with any unknown person during online verification and to provide their information only to authorized and trusted operators.
