Today, dated 12/05/26, at the KolhuKhet police post, Mussoorie, Mrs. Sandhya, wife of Ashok Singh, resident of Maheshwar Niketan, Colaba Police Station, Mumbai, Maharashtra, age 50, informed that she and her family had come for the Chardham Yatra and had stopped at a place on Mussoorie Road to get their photographs taken. While posing for photos with her family, she placed her purse on the back of an unknown bike parked nearby. After spending considerable time posing for photos, she searched for her purse and the bike. The purse contained the woman’s 50,000 rupees in cash and important documents. Upon receiving information, police immediately arrived at the scene. Using CCTV cameras installed at the scene and nearby, they retrieved the motorcycle’s number and contacted the motorcycle owner, who then immediately arrived. The woman’s purse was found hanging intact on a handlebar attached to the rear seat of the motorcycle. It was handed over to the woman. Upon checking, the woman found her money and all her IDs in the purse. The motorcycle owner stated that he had come to the scene for some work and, upon finishing his work, started the motorcycle and left. He was unaware of the purse being on his bike. After getting back the cash and necessary documents kept in the purse safely, the female devotee who had come from Maharashtra praised the working style of Uttarakhand Police and expressed her gratitude to Doon Police for the prompt action taken by them.
