Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, Pramendra Singh Dobal, received intelligence through confidential channels regarding a syndicate involved in placing bets on online gaming within the Raiwala area. Acting on this information, SSP Dehradun constituted a special team led by the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Station In-charge of Raiwala. Conducting a raid at ‘Shanti Bhawan’ in Haripur Kalan—located within the police station’s jurisdiction—the constituted team apprehended four accused individuals on the spot while they were actively engaged in online betting: 1. Darshan Jagnani (Son of Manish Kumar); 2. Sahil Ahuja (Son of Amar Ahuja); 3. Suraj (Son of Mahesh); and 4. Hemant Sharma (Son of Shyamlal). The accused individuals were placing bets on the online websites ‘Cribet 99’ and ‘111*Play’ via the platform http://ramesh247-com/deposits/history (REDDY PANEL RD121). From the scene, the police team recovered ₹184,000 in cash—collected from betting activities—along with 01 laptop (including charger), 07 mobile phones, 03 registers, 19 ATM cards from various banks, 03 passbooks, 01 chequebook, 04 SIM cards, and other miscellaneous items. A case has been registered against the accused at Kotwali Raiwala under Case No. 30/2026, pursuant to Sections 318(4)/61(2) of the BNS, Sections 66C/66D of the IT Act, and Section 13 of the Gambling Act.
*Details of Interrogation:*
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they facilitate online betting on cricket matches for people—collecting money from them in the process—via the ‘Cricket Line App’ (known as ‘Ghoda’) and through the online websites ‘Cribet 99’ and ‘111*Play’, accessed via the platform http://ramesh247-com/deposits/history (REDDY PANEL RD121). The accused send a link to customers interested in online betting; upon clicking this link, the customers receive a unique number. Subsequently, the accused link this number to WhatsApp to establish contact with the customers, thereby compiling a customer database. They then provide the details of the betting site to the customers via WhatsApp and send them a deposit slip containing specific bank account details; all financial transactions related to the betting activities are conducted by the accused exclusively through these designated bank accounts.
Following the payment process, the accused generate a unique User ID and provide the corresponding password to the customers, enabling them to access the designated website and place their online bets. *Details of Arrested Accused:*
1- Darshan Jagnani, son of Manish Kumar, resident of Sindhi Colony, Lalbagh Police Station, District Burhanpur, M.P., Age: 22 years.
2- Sahil Ahuja, son of Amar Ahuja, resident of Sindhi Colony, Lalbagh Police Station, District Burhanpur, M.P., Age: 22 years.
3- Suraj, son of Mahesh, resident of Sahridaya Ram Nagar, Hanuman Ganj Police Station, District Bhopal, M.P.; currently residing at C/o Sunita Devnani, Nooranpur, Lalbagh Police Station, District Burhanpur, M.P., Age: 23 years.
4- Hemant Sharma, son of Shyamlal Sharma, resident of Naya Gaon, Jawad Police Station, District Neemuch, M.P., Age: 30 years.
*Recoveries:*
1- Cash amounting to ₹184,000/- (One Lakh Eighty-Four Thousand Rupees) earned through betting.
2- 01 Laptop (along with charger) used for online betting activities.
3- 07 Mobile phones.
4- 03 Registers used for recording financial transaction details.
5- 19 ATM cards from various banks.
6- 03 Bank passbooks related to cash deposits.
7- 01 Chequebook from Axis Bank.
8- 04 SIM card covers.
