A large camp was held at Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Devi Road, Kotdwar.
Chief Guest Mrs. Ritu Bhushan Khanduri inaugurated the camp.
Dehradun: A cancer awareness and free health checkup camp was successfully organized on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Devi Road, Kotdwar, courtesy of Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun. 1,226 patients benefited from the camp. Specialist doctors from the hospital provided health advice and distributed free medicines to the patients.
The camp was inaugurated on Tuesday by lighting the lamp jointly by Chief Guest Ritu Bhushan Khanduri, Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly; Special Guest Shailendra Rawat, Mayor of Kotdwar; Raj Gaurav Nautiyal, District President of BJP Kotdwar; Dhirendra Mohan Raturi, Director, Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Kotdwar; Dinesh Singh Negi, Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Devi Road, Kotdwar; and Girish Uniyal, Principal.
In her inspiring address, Chief Guest Mrs. Ritu Bhushan Khanduri expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Chairman of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Pujya Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj. She stated that Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital’s continuous efforts to expand healthcare services and promote public welfare are commendable. The institution’s contribution to establishing a better healthcare system in Uttarakhand is highly commendable. She also stated that the hospital has become a lifeline for the rural and needy population, especially through its excellent medical facilities. These types of services not only increase health awareness but also set a unique example of service, compassion, and dedication in society.
Special guest Shailendra Rawat, Mayor, Kotdwar, in his address, stated that the role of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital in spreading public awareness about serious diseases like cancer is highly commendable and important. He stated that this initiative by the hospital is an exemplary effort that moves society towards a healthy future.
Raj Gaurav Nautiyal, District President, BJP Kotdwar, in his address, praised the SGRR Education Mission, saying that the institution not only provides high-quality education to students but also inculcates values, discipline, and moral values in them. He stated that the special attention given by the SGRR Education Mission to character building along with education is an inspiration for society.
Dr. Shahnawaz Nazir A., Cancer Specialist, Department of Cancer Surgery, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, participated in the camp. Jhankwal, Dr. Akanksha Agarwal from Neurology, Dr. Nitin Badewal from Cardiology, Dr. Diksha Ramola from Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, Dr. Pankaj Joshi and Dr. Utkarsh Rawat from Medicine Department, Dr. Ankit Singh from Surgery, Dr. Shipra Chauhan from Paediatrics Department, Dr. Shivani Yadav from Ophthalmology Department, Dr. Chitambara Joshi from Dermatology and Venereology Department, Dr. Sushant Kimothi from Physiotherapy, Dr. Neetu Garg from Psychiatry Department, Pritish Gautam from Orthopedics Department, Dr. Abhishek Sharma from Dental Department, Dr. Harshit Gupta from ENT Department gave medical advice to the patients. In making the program successful, special cooperation was given by Himanshu Dwivedi, DS Negi, Roshan Negi, Rama Hindwan, Sarita Dabral, Dr. Shivi, Shweta Bisht, Pranav Bamrada, Dr. Rituja along with Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital’s Public Relations Officer Vivek Sharma and all the teachers and supporting staff including SGRR Public School, Kotdwar.
All the three schools of SGRR Public School Kotdwar, SGRR College of Para Medical and College of Nursing also participated in the camp. Free ECG test, blood sugar test and blood pressure test of the patients were done by Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. Free medicines were also distributed to the patients by Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital.
