In search of supplier of international illegal arms, one accused was arrested from Clementown Police Station area in joint raid conducted by Uttarakhand STF and Maharashtra Crime Branch in Dehradun.
The arrested criminal used to supply illegal arms to the gang of international forest smugglers – has been sent to jail earlier also for recovery of 2000 illegal cartridges from Delhi.
He used to supply illegal arms and cartridges to gangs of Maharashtra through online booking and public transport and courier.
Three days ago, a large quantity of illegal arms and cartridges were recovered from the members of the wildlife hunter gang in Maharashtra.
Uttarakhand STF is investigating the background of the arrested criminal. Director General of Police of Uttarakhand, Deepam Seth has given strict instructions to his subordinates to take concrete action under the “Special Campaign” being run for the arrest of criminals in Uttarakhand, in compliance of which Senior Superintendent of Police STF Mr. Navneet Singh Bhullar has directed all his teams to take strict action against the wanted criminals and gangsters from outside residing in Uttarakhand. In continuation of which, on 02-07-2025, Maharashtra Crime Branch Police informed STF Uttarakhand that FIR No. 665/2025 was registered in Yavatmal City Police Station of Yavatmal District, Maharashtra under Section 3(25), 4(25), 5(27) Arms Act, 135 Maharashtra Police Act, in which 2 notorious wildlife smugglers were arrested, from whom one- 22 caliber rifle, one- 177 caliber air gun, one- double bore pot gun, one- 32 revolver, one- crossbow hunting treasure with trigger guard, 05- cartridges 12 bore, 50- live cartridges, 85- live cartridges, 90 live cartridges of 0.22 caliber, CARTS -5AO.22 IN RINFIRE Long Rifle Ball Indian Ammunition, 30 live cartridges of steel and copper, 30 live cartridges, one- military color bullet Proof jackets were recovered. Interrogation of the accused in connection with the large quantity of illegal arms recovered revealed that all these arms were provided to this gang by their gang member Kamran Ahmed, a resident of Dehradun. It was also found that these arms were used to hunt wild animals. This information was shared by Maharashtra Crime Branch with Uttarakhand STF. On this, a team was constituted under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police by Senior Superintendent of Police STF Shri Navneet Singh and directed for immediate action. On which Uttarakhand STF verified Kamran Ahmed in Dehradun and collected information. It was found that accused Kamran Ahmed is a member of the International Arms Dealer Gang, who is a vicious type of criminal, who has previously gone to jail from Pratapganj Industrial Area Police Station, Delhi in the year 2022 under Arms Act in the recovery of 2000 (two thousand illegal cartridges) along with his gang members. Today on 02-07-2025, Uttarakhand STF along with Maharashtra Crime Branch arrested the wanted accused Kamran Ahmed son of Naeem Ahmed resident of B-2/118 Yamuna Vihar Delhi, currently resident of Keshavkunj Dehradun, Uttarakhand. During interrogation of Kamran Ahmed, information about his visits to other countries as well as other important information has been received on which STF is planning further action.
