Dehradun SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal’s strategy has instilled fear in criminals, solving the Raipur firing case within 24 hours.
Five teams conducted rapid action, arrested three accused; continued raids in search of the main accused.
Dehradun: Under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Dobal, the Dehradun Police once again demonstrated its swift, well-planned, and effective approach, solving the sensational firing incident in the Raipur area within just 24 hours. Police have arrested three accused involved in the case, while continuous raids are being conducted to search for the main accused and other absconding accused.
According to the police, at around 9 pm on July 3, 2026, unknown youths opened fire outside a liquor shop on the Ring Road. Naveen Rana was shot in the shoulder, and passerby Kamendra Sharma was shot in the leg. Both injured were immediately hospitalized.
Regarding the seriousness of the incident, SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal immediately formed five separate police teams and directed the arrest of the accused. Police teams examined CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding areas, interviewed eyewitnesses, and activated technical and local intelligence to piece together the case.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the injured, Kamendra Sharma, and the main accused, Akshay Pradhan, had a previous dispute at a wedding ceremony in Bijnor, which escalated into a feud over time. This old rivalry led to a confrontation in Dehradun, leading to a shootout.
Acting swiftly, the police arrested three accused: Arun Kumar alias Chhotu, Sunny Kumar, and Adarsh Singh, from the Sodha Saroli area on Thano Road. During interrogation, the accused confessed to perpetrating the crime due to the old rivalry.
Police teams are continuously raiding possible hideouts to arrest the main accused, Akshay Pradhan, and his other associates.
In this entire operation, a joint team from Raipur Police Station, Nehru Colony Police Station, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) played a crucial role by conducting coordinated operations.
