Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a site inspection of the under-construction Shiv Mandir bridge on Mussoorie Road on Tuesday. During the inspection, he inquired about the progress of the bridge, which had been damaged by rain. During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed Public Works Department officials to complete the bridge construction within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring public convenience.
The Chief Minister stated that this bridge is a vital connecting route between Dehradun and Mussoorie, and a large number of local citizens and tourists travel on it daily. He stated that to maintain smooth traffic flow, the construction of a valley bridge is progressing rapidly, and the other side will also be completed and operational soon.
The Chief Minister stated that the construction of a permanent bridge at this location is also being undertaken on a priority basis, with a target completion date of two to three months. He stated that the state government is continuously striving to strengthen roads and bridges in the state. He said that several road and bridge construction projects are being implemented rapidly in various areas, so that the inaccessible areas of the state can get better connectivity.
The Chief Minister said that keeping in mind the upcoming Chardham Yatra and Adi Kailash Yatra, instructions have been given to all the concerned departments to complete the necessary infrastructural works on time, so that safe and smooth travel facilities can be provided to the devotees and tourists. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to regularly monitor the works and continuously review the progress of the works.
