In line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for a “Crime-Free Uttarakhand” and under the direction of the Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, under the campaign being run by Senior Superintendent of Police, STF, Ajay Singh, the Special Task Force (STF), Uttarakhand, today, dated 09/07/26, conducted a joint operation in the Lalpur area of Kichha police station, Udham Singh Nagar. During a raid conducted by the local police and excise team, a warehouse in Lalpur was found to contain 108 drums filled with a large quantity of chemicals, along with 78 empty drums. Approximately 9,050 liters of ethanol, 2,600 liters of glucose, and 4,000 liters of sorbitol were recovered from the filled drums. All of these chemicals fall under the prohibited category. It came to light that the warehouse was being operated illegally by Rajkumar Khurana, son of Harbansh Khurana, a resident of Kichha. The excise team took samples of all the chemicals on the spot and sent them to the laboratory for testing. Following the investigation, a case will be registered against the suspects under relevant sections, and necessary legal action will be taken. The warehouse was sealed. The STF has also appealed to the general public that if they receive any information regarding any person being involved in fraudulent or suspicious activities, they should immediately inform the STF.
