*Development and Heritage: Uttarakhand Scripts a New History Through Investment, Infrastructure, and Achievements*

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand has, over the past four years, presented a model of development and heritage that has earned the state a distinct identity on the national stage. Unprecedented progress has been recorded across the sectors of investment, infrastructure, education, and tourism.

*A Major Leap in Investment and Infrastructure*

During the Global Investors Summit held in the state, MoUs worth ₹3.56 lakh crore were signed, of which investments exceeding ₹1 lakh crore have already materialized on the ground.

Work on the Jamrani Dam Project in Nainital district and the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail line is proceeding at an accelerated pace. Meanwhile, the Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Road project is also set to commence shortly.

To bolster healthcare services, the construction of an AIIMS Satellite Centre is currently underway in Kichha (Udham Singh Nagar).

Under the ‘UDAN’ scheme, helicopter services have been launched in the state’s hilly regions, resulting in a significant improvement in connectivity.

*Development in Rural and Border Areas*

Under the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme,’ work is currently in progress on approximately 200 development schemes—at a cost of ₹270 crore—in villages selected under the initiative. Additionally, 13 ‘Adarsh Sanskrit Grams’ (Model Sanskrit Villages) have been inaugurated across the state’s 13 districts.

The approval for a Smart Industrial Township at Khurpia Farm in Udham Singh Nagar, along with ongoing efforts to have the Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail line declared a ‘National Project,’ are providing a new direction to the state’s industrial development.

*Innovation in Education and Culture*

Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Furthermore, a ‘Centre for Hindu Studies’ has been established at Doon University.

The decision to incorporate the *Shrimad Bhagavad Gita* into the school curriculum is also being hailed as a significant step toward promoting cultural values within the state.

*Record-Breaking Achievements in Tourism, Energy, and Sports*

The tourism sector in the state has set new benchmarks of success. In the year 2025, over 60.3 million tourists visited Uttarakhand, while approximately 4.8 million devotees participated in the Char Dham Yatra. The Kanwar Yatra witnessed the participation of more than 41.5 million devotees of Lord Shiva.

In the renewable energy sector, the state’s solar energy capacity has surpassed 1 gigawatt. UPCL has set a new benchmark by installing over 42,000 solar rooftop plants.

In the realm of sports, Uttarakhand hosted the National Games for the first time, where the state’s athletes set a new record by winning 103 medals.

*A Cascade of Honors and Achievements*

Uttarakhand has delivered an outstanding performance across various national indices. In NITI Aayog’s Export Preparedness Index 2024, the state secured the first position in the ‘Small States’ category. Furthermore, in the SDG Index 2023-24, Uttarakhand ranked at the very top nationwide.

Attaining the “Achievers” category in the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ rankings and the “Leaders” category in the ‘Startup Rankings’ serves as a testament to the state’s business-friendly policies.

At ‘Wings India 2026’, Uttarakhand was honored with the award for the “Best State for the Promotion of Aviation Ecosystem.” In the field of mining reforms, the state secured the second position nationally, for which it received an incentive grant of ₹200 crore.

Additionally, the villages of Jakhol, Supi, Harsil, and Gunji were recognized as “Best Tourism Villages,” underscoring the growing significance of rural tourism.

Over the past four years—guided by the mantra of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi” (Development and Heritage)—Uttarakhand has achieved historic milestones across the sectors of investment, infrastructure, education, tourism, and energy. This period is viewed not merely as an era of development, but as the dawn of a new epoch for the state.
