In an effort to realize Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s vision of a “Drugs-Free Devbhoomi,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, Pramendra Singh Dobal, issued directives to all subordinate officers to identify and initiate legal action against individuals involved in the smuggling or sale of illicit narcotics and liquor within their respective jurisdictions. In compliance with these instructions, the Doon Police has been consistently taking effective action against drug and liquor traffickers. Continuing this drive, on March 15, 2026, during a routine check near the Kotwali Raiwala gate, police arrested two individuals—(1) Shivam, son of Ramesh Chandra, and (2) Ishu Kashyap (alias ‘Laddu’), son of Bijendra Kashyap. The accused were apprehended while attempting to smuggle liquor in a Hyundai car (Registration No. UA07S-5230); the vehicle was found to contain 10 cases holding 576 quarter-bottles of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 1,125 tetra-packs of country liquor. A formal case has been registered against the accused individuals at Kotwali Raiwala under the provisions of the Excise Act. *Details of Seized Items*
