The district administration has accelerated action on the proposed Rispana-Vindal Elevated Road Project to ease the increasing traffic pressure and ensure smooth connectivity in the capital Dehradun. District Magistrate Savin Bansal held a review meeting on the elevated project and the Asharodi-Jhajhra project on NH-7 in the Rishiparna Auditorium on Thursday and directed departmental officials to expedite the work by completing all procedures within the stipulated timeframe.
The District Magistrate stated that the Rispana-Vindal Elevated Road Project is a priority for the Chief Minister. The District Magistrate directed the Municipal Corporation and the MDDA to promptly provide records of their respective land areas proposed for the project. The Elevated Corridor Survey Committee was instructed to prepare a complete list of affected land by department. PWD and revenue officials were directed to remain on site and prepare a complete list of people illegally encroaching on government land earmarked for the project in the prescribed format. The District Magistrate directed that after preparing the department-wise records of the proposed land, a preliminary notification for land acquisition under Section 11 be published promptly, and the process of rehabilitation and resettlement be initiated.
Regarding the issue of villagers’ obstruction in East Hope Town and Arcadia Grant in the NH-7 Asharodi-Jhajhra project and the non-payment of compensation for construction on Forest Department land, the District Magistrate directed NH officials to conduct a site inspection with the SDMs of Sadar and Vikas Nagar and resolve the issue promptly. To carry out road improvement work on the Dehradun-Haridwar Road and remove illegal encroachments, prompt action should be taken in coordination with the concerned SDM and with the cooperation of the police.
During the meeting, PWD provided information on the work done so far on the elevated project through a presentation. It was informed that the alignment of the elevated project has been prepared and sent to the National Highway Authority of India. Further action will be taken upon approval.
