The human rights of the poor unemployed are being violated at the protest site located at Ekta Vihar, Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun because there is no clean drinking water there, there is only one tank for drinking and bathing water, the condition of the toilets is very bad and there are heaps of garbage and dirt and due to the drain next to the protest site, there is an abundance of mosquitoes there.
The information about the above case was provided to human rights, RTI and social activist Bhupendra Kumar Laxmi by Akshita, Kalpana, Sonam and Srishti along with video and photos.
Thereafter, a PIL was filed in the Human Rights Commission Uttarakhand on 02/12/2024 in the above case and a request was made for immediate action that “the condition of the protest site at Sahastradhara Road, Ekta Vihar, Dehradun, where the unemployed youth are fighting for their rights is very bad, the unemployed youth are not even getting clean drinking water, there is only one tank for bathing and drinking water, the condition of the toilet is also very bad, even the toilet does not have water and there are heaps of garbage and dirt and there is also a drain next to the protest site, due to its dirt, there is an abundance of mosquitoes at night, due to dirt and mosquitoes, the youth sitting on hunger strike there can fall ill”.
Therefore, it is requested to the Honorable Sir that the subject of the complaint is very serious and clearly a violation of the human rights of the young unemployed sitting at the protest site, so please direct for action in public interest, interest of justice and take strict action by calling for a report.
In view of the seriousness of the PIL, Member (IPS) of Human Rights Commission Ram Singh Meena immediately issued a notice to the District Magistrate Dehradun on 03//12/2024 and issued orders.

Bhupendra Kumar Laxmi is present before the Commission.
He has sent a complaint letter regarding the lack of clean drinking water at the protest site located at Sahastradhara Road, Ekta Vihar, Dehradun, there being only one tank for bathing and drinking water, the condition of the toilet being very bad, heaps of garbage all around, there being a drain next to the protest site, there being an abundance of mosquitoes and a clear violation of the human rights of the poor unemployed and immediate action in public interest.
A copy of the complaint letter should be sent to the District Magistrate, Dehradun, so that he will present his report in this regard before the Commission by the next date.
The file should be submitted on 25.01.2025.
Therefore, you are expected to please provide the desired information/report in compliance with the above order of the Commission in this matter by 25/01/2025.
It should be known that in case of non-action as per the above order of the Commission, appropriate orders will be passed by the Commission after consideration.
The big question is that when there is a demonstration on the roads etc., then the leaders are with these unemployed, but at the protest site, should the leaders not also look at these serious problems related to clean drinking water, dirty broken toilets, mosquitoes breeding from the filth in the dirty drain which can make these poor unemployed sick, health can deteriorate due to lack of clean drinking water?
