Dehradun: No action taken even after finding fake cheese in large quantities, notice issued to DSO

Even after the samples of Paneer failed in Haripurkalan area of Raiwala area of Dehradun, no action was taken by the Food Department against the person making the fake Paneer whereas making fake Paneer and supplying it in the area is a direct threat to the lives of people.

Human rights, RTI and social activist Bhupendra Kumar Laxmi filed a PIL in the Human Rights Commission Uttarakhand in the above case and requested that ‘The department had raided the plant making fake Paneer in Haripurkalan area of Raiwala area of Dehradun. Despite the failure of five samples taken from the plant by the departmental team, the officials of the Food and Safety Department have not yet taken any action against the accused making fake Paneer.

That on 29th June, the team of Food Safety and Drug Administration Department raided the Paneer plant near Haripurkalan Sukhi river under the leadership of Garhwal Deputy Commissioner RS Rawat. The team found a large quantity of illegal and harmful substances on the spot. The team recovered about three quintals of Paneer, 80 kg of arrowroot, 60 liters of acetic acid, acid, 10 liters of palm oil from the plant. The team collected five samples from the spot and sent them for testing, in which three samples of Paneer, one of palm oil and one of acetic acid were taken. All three samples of Paneer failed in the test, despite this, Dehradun District Officer is not taking action against those making fake Paneer.

Therefore, it is requested to the Honorable Sir that the subject of the complaint is very serious and clearly related to the common people, so please call for a report in public interest and take immediate action.

The complainant Bhupendra Kumar Laxmi has submitted a complaint regarding the Food Department not taking action against the fake cheese makers even after the samples of cheese failed in Haripurkalan of Raiwala area of Dehradun.

 

A copy of the complaint should be sent to the District Supply Officer, Dehradun so that he presents his report in this regard before the Commission before the next date.

 

It is known that in case of non-action as per the above order of the Commission, appropriate orders will be passed by the Commission after consideration.

 

The file should be listed on 28.11.2024.
