Uttarakhand STF takes another major action under Operation Prahar

Under the Operation Prahar campaign currently being run in accordance with the instructions given by Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, Deepam Seth, Senior Superintendent of Police, STF, Ajay Singh, directed all STF teams to develop inputs regarding professional criminals/anti-social elements and illegal storage of domestic gas cylinders and take action. In continuation of this, the State Special Task Force (STF) conducted a raid in the South Civil Lines area and recovered 101 illegally stored LPG cylinders. Most of the recovered cylinders belonged to a company called “Indira Gas.” A team from the Food Supply Department was also called to the scene and is investigating the matter.

Senior Superintendent of Police, STF, Ajay Singh, provided information that due to the current gas shortage, information had been received regarding hoarders illegally collecting gas cylinders and selling them to hotel and dhaba owners at high prices. Following this, the State STF team raided South Civil Lines in the Roorkee area and recovered 101 illegally stored gas cylinders from a single location. These cylinders had been illegally stored by Jaiveer, son of Karan Singh, a resident of South Civil Lines, who was not found at home. The team is taking necessary legal action in collaboration with the local police and the relevant department.
