Tragic accident in Uttarakhand: Helicopter going from Guptkashi to Kedarnath crashes, 5 killed
Guptkashi, June 15, 2025: A horrific helicopter accident took place on Sunday morning in the forests of Gaurikund-Sonprayag area of Uttarakhand. An Aryan Aviation helicopter flying from Guptkashi to Kedarnath Dham crashed, killing 5 out of 6 people on board.
According to preliminary information, the accident happened due to bad weather. It is also coming to light that there were more people on board the helicopter than its capacity. The accident took place in a high altitude area, due to which the rescue team is having difficulty reaching the spot. Teams of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police have left for the spot for relief and rescue work.
Due to the accident, questions are being raised about the safety of helicopter services on the Chardham Yatra route. It is being told that this accident happened due to bad weather and possibly more passengers than the capacity of the helicopter.
