Traffic jam in Mussoorie became the cause of death, elderly tourist died
Delay in waiting for ambulance, jam took his life
Mussoorie: Traffic jam proved fatal for an elderly tourist on Thursday, June 6, in the hill tourist destination Mussoorie. 62-year-old Kamal Kishore Tandon, who had come to Mussoorie from Delhi, suddenly fell ill and his family was taking him to the hospital, but due to heavy traffic jam the vehicle was stuck for about 45 minutes. Due to not getting timely treatment, the elderly died before reaching the hospital.
Arjun Kapoor, a relative of the deceased, said that Kamal Kishore Tandon had come to Mussoorie from Delhi with five other relatives and was staying in a hotel in the Library area. His health suddenly deteriorated on Thursday morning. It is believed that he suffered a heart attack due to rain and cold.
The family immediately called for an ambulance, but on getting information that the ambulance would take time to reach from Dehradun, they decided to leave for the hospital in a private vehicle. Due to heavy traffic jam on the way, the vehicle was stuck for about 45 minutes. By the time they reached the hospital, Kamal Kishore Tandon had died.
This incident has raised questions about traffic management and availability of emergency services in Mussoorie. Traffic jams are common due to the crowd of tourists, but the lack of effective arrangements in emergency situations can sometimes prove fatal.
