At a program held at the Chief Minister’s camp office, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the Board to reach as many workers as possible. He said that, in order to maintain transparency in grant distribution, offline grant distribution has been discontinued and funds are being transferred directly to beneficiaries’ accounts through online settlement and DBT. Through this process, a total of ₹29.89 crore has been distributed to 11,828 beneficiaries so far. A total of ₹17.25 crore is being distributed to 8,005 beneficiaries today. Thus, in the last six months, a total of ₹47.14 crore has been distributed to 19,833 beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister directed Board officials to focus on skill training for workers and their dependents. To prevent migration from mountainous regions, local workers should be provided with skills in plumbing, electrician, masonry, carpentry, etc. Similarly, considering the potential for employment in yoga and wellness, free training in yoga and wellness should be provided to the children of workers in the upcoming academic session.
The Chief Minister also urged the Board to make efforts to provide employment opportunities abroad to construction workers and their dependents after skill training. This initiative should be implemented through an agency registered with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Furthermore, attention should be paid to linking workers to the PM Svanidhi Scheme and ensuring their regular health checkups. For this, arrangements should be made for medical examination of the workers at their work place itself, so that there is no disruption in their employment. On this occasion, Labor Commissioner PC Dumka informed that till now 16000 establishments have been registered through UKLCCMS Portal, through which Rs. 80,00000.00 (Rupees eighty lakh only) has been deposited as fee, along with this, a total amount of Rs. 324 crore has been deposited with the Board till now in the form of cess, which is being used for the welfare of the workers. He informed that online arrangements are being made to bring transparency in the distribution of material among the construction workers. Through which the distribution of material will be ensured through live photo and geo tracking of the beneficiaries.
