Dehradun. The three-day national convention of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) concluded with great fanfare on Monday. Uttarakhand Government Cabinet Minister and Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal was the chief guest at the convention’s closing session. Representatives from across the country in the public relations, communications, and media sectors participated in the event. During the convention, contemporary issues, the role of mass communication, technological changes, and the contribution of communication in nation-building were discussed in depth.

In his closing address, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal stated that the current era is an era of artificial intelligence and modern technology. Therefore, making the country’s young generation more skilled and efficient is the need of the hour. He stated that providing youth with employment opportunities and necessary skills at the local level can curb the serious problem of migration and promote reverse migration. He stated that youth are the country’s greatest strength and should be integrated with technology to become partners in nation-building. Subodh Uniyal stated that mass communication is a powerful medium to empower the country. Over the past decade, India’s perspective on the world stage has changed, and today, India has emerged as an emerging global power. He stated that the goal of all of us should be to make India a strong economic power, and the role of those involved in mass communication is crucial in this. He urged the delegates from across the country to promote positive, factual, and nationally beneficial dialogue.

MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, who chaired the convention, praised the role of PRSI. He said that the role of mass communication is crucial in building a developed India. He urged the delegates to play the role of a bridge and charioteer in disseminating the public welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to the common people, so that the real benefits of the schemes reach the last person in society. He said that positive communication, accurate information, and responsible mass communication play a vital role in building a developed India. Only if correct information about the schemes reaches the general public, their real benefits will reach the last person in society.

On this occasion, Alok Sharma, Director of Indian Oil Faridabad, highlighted innovations taking place in the energy sector. He outlined Indian Oil’s efforts in the field of green energy and stated that the company aims to reduce crude oil imports. He also stated that the goal of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2027 has been set. Additionally, special focus is being placed on promoting biofuels, affordable, and sustainable energy.

PRSI National President Ajit Pathak praised the Dehradun Chapter, calling the event unprecedented. He expressed gratitude to the delegates from across the country and said that such conventions provide a new direction to the field of mass communication.

During the program, individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of mass communication were honored. Minister Uniyal praised PRSI, saying that the organization has not only strengthened mass communication but has also played a vital role in preserving the country’s ancient culture and values.

PRSI Dehradun Chapter President Ravi Bijarnia welcomed all the guests and said that PRSI is moving forward with a positive mindset. He said that the organization integrates human values and technology and is committed to providing positive and factual information to the public. He also announced that the next national conference of PRSI will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in the year 2026. Finally, the three-day national convention was formally concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
