District Administration on Alert Ahead of Prime Minister’s Proposed Visit; District Magistrate Issues Necessary Directives Regarding Preparations

Dehradun, March 28, 2026 (Dept. of Information). In view of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s potential participation in the proposed inauguration ceremony of the Delhi-Dehradun Express Highway, as well as his scheduled visit to the district, District Magistrate Savin Bansal convened a meeting with concerned departmental officials to review comprehensive preparations and issued necessary directives to senior officials of the line departments.

The District Magistrate directed officials from the National Highway (NH) Authority, NHAI, and the Public Works Department (PWD) to immediately inspect the Prime Minister’s potential travel route and ensure the timely completion of necessary beautification works, divider repairs, road improvements, and other related tasks within the stipulated timeframe. He further instructed officials from the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) to immediately remove any cables lying along the roadside on the potential route—as part of ongoing underground cabling works—to prevent any obstruction to traffic flow and to ensure the route remains orderly and safe.

Issuing clear directives to the concerned officials regarding arrangements at the event venue, the District Magistrate emphasized that the construction of the stage, security arrangements, parking facilities, adequate seating arrangements, mobile toilets, and other basic amenities must be completed in a time-bound and systematic manner. The Municipal Corporation was directed to ensure special cleanliness drives at both the event venue and along the potential travel route.

In light of the Prime Minister’s proposed visit to the district, the District Magistrate clarified that all previously granted permissions for ongoing construction activities along the potential travel routes within the district have been revoked with immediate effect until the conclusion of the event, to ensure that no obstructions of any kind arise.

The District Magistrate directed all departments to discharge their assigned responsibilities while maintaining mutual coordination, sternly stating that no laxity whatsoever would be tolerated in the preparations.

Present at the meeting were Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobhal, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional Chief Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar, and Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) K.K. Officials from the concerned departments were present, including Mishra, Superintendent of Police (City) Pramod Kumar, Joint Magistrate Rahul Kumar, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, and Sub-Divisional Magistrates Harigiri, Apoorva Singh, and Kumkum Joshi.
