Students at SGRR University took the oath of constitutional values.
Vice Chancellor: Every student should respect constitutional values.
Dehradun: Students took the oath at a program organized on the occasion of Constitution Day on Wednesday at Shri Guru Ram Rai University. The program aimed to further strengthen the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity among students, faculty, and staff. The program was held simultaneously across all three campuses of the university, including Pathribag, ITS, and Medical.
On this occasion, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, President of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, said in his message that the Constitution is not just a legal document, but the soul of India. He urged students to always be ready to propagate the values of equality, fraternity, and service enshrined in the Constitution in society.
The program was organized under the guidance of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Prathapan K. Pillai and Registrar Dr. Lokesh Gambhir. The program was conducted by Dean of Student Welfare Prof. (Dr.) Malavika Sati Kandpal.
The program began with the collective recitation of Vande Mataram. The students, faculty, and staff present unanimously took an oath to respect the nation and the Constitution. Following this, all present took the Constitutional Pledge based on the Preamble of the Constitution, in which everyone pledged to uphold the nation’s unity, integrity, equality, and justice. The program was organized by the University’s Student Council.
On this occasion, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Prathapan K. Pillai, stated that the Constitution is not only the supreme document of the country, but also the basis of every citizen’s rights and duties. He appealed to the youth to adopt the principles of the Constitution in their lives and behavior.
University Registrar, Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, said that this day reminds us of our responsibility to uphold our democratic values. He encouraged students to actively participate in nation-building.
Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Addressing the students, Dr. Malavika Sati Kandpal stated that the university is always committed to the all-round development of students and strengthening their constitutional understanding. She stated that Constitution Day is not merely a formal event, but rather an important medium to remind youth of their active role in nation-building. She appealed to students to be aware of their rights as well as their duties.
At the end of the program, the organizing committee thanked all participants, stating that such events promote national consciousness, unity, and constitutional values within the university.
On this occasion, hundreds of students, including deans, department heads, and faculty from all the university’s schools, participated in the program.
