Senior Superintendent of Police Dehradun Pramod Singh Dobal has directed all station in-charges to take effective action against bar/restaurant operators who create ruckus at night in their respective police station areas and open their bars/restaurants after the prescribed time limit.
In compliance with the above instructions, on the night of 30/03/2026, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police City/Rishikesh/Vikasnagar/Traffic, along with the concerned jurisdictional officers, different police teams conducted intensive checking campaign at all bars/restaurants and crowded places in Rajpur area.
During the campaign, all pub/bar/restaurant operators were warned of strict action against them if they did not open their establishments after the stipulated time period and violated the rules. During this, a case was registered under section 223/270 BNS against 02 bar operators (Pyramid Bar, Nukkad Bar and Restaurant) in Rajpur area for serving liquor to people in their bars after the stipulated time period. Also, during night checking, 11 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and their vehicles were seized. Three persons found drinking alcohol in a bar/restaurant till late night were detained under 172 BNSS and brought to the police station.
The campaign being run by the police on the instructions of SSP Dehradun is continuing.
