Today, on March 24, 2026, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dehradun, conducted the annual inspection of Kotwali Nagar. During the inspection, while reviewing the records maintained in the police station offices, the SSP directed that all records be updated on a regular basis. Furthermore, expressing displeasure over the pendency of complaint applications received through various portals, the SSP issued a stern reprimand to the In-charge Inspector of Kotwali Nagar and the concerned investigating officers, directing them to ensure the swift disposal of all pending applications. Additionally, orders were issued for a departmental inquiry against those investigators found to be unnecessarily delaying the processing of these applications. During this visit, strict instructions were issued to ensure the timely updating of information across the various portals operating under the CCTNS framework, as well as to guarantee the time-bound resolution of online complaints, verification requests, and other matters received through the NCRB portal, CM portal, e-District portal, and other similar platforms.

While touring the police station premises, the SSP of Dehradun inspected the arrangements within the staff barracks and the mess hall. He issued directives emphasizing the need to pay special attention to the maintenance and cleanliness of these facilities, and specifically instructed that the quality of food served in the mess hall be maintained at a high standard.

During the inspection of the *Malkhana* (property room), the SSP gathered information regarding the stored goods and government property. He inquired into the reasons behind the pendency of case-related exhibits and unclaimed property lying at the station. Consequently, the Inspector-in-Charge of the Kotwali was directed to prioritize the proper upkeep of these items and to initiate swift action for the disposal of unclaimed property and vehicles seized under the Motor Vehicles Act.

While inspecting the weaponry, riot-control equipment, and disaster-management gear available at the station, the SSP directed that police personnel undergo regular drills in weapon handling. Furthermore, after obtaining details from the officers present regarding the crime detection kits available at the station, he issued instructions to familiarize all officers and staff members with the contents and usage of these kits, and to conduct regular practice sessions on the proper collection of evidence from crime scenes.

Following the inspection, the SSP of Dehradun convened a meeting with all officers and personnel present at the station. During this meeting, directives were issued regarding crime control and prevention, as well as the prompt and time-bound legal disposal of investigative cases, complaint petitions, and correspondence received from the Honorable Courts. Additionally, the SSP solicited feedback from the officers and staff regarding any issues or grievances they might be facing; he then directed the senior officers present to take appropriate measures for the resolution of these issues, while simultaneously assuring the police personnel that every possible effort would be made to safeguard and promote their welfare.
