*While being SSP STF, SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh had initiated financial investigation against Bareilly gang under section 68 (f) of NDPS Act for the first time in Uttarakhand. Under PIT NDPS, accused Shivam Gupta was also imprisoned for 9 months in district jail Sudhowala.*
*Under the PIT NDPS Act, Doon Police has imprisoned 02 other drug smugglers in the district jail, against whom financial investigation is also being done.*
*Along with taking legal action against the drug mafia, instructions have been given by SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh to inflict financial damage on them.*
*To realize the vision of Chief Minister Uttarakhand of “Drugs Free Devbhoomi 2025″*, SSP Dehradun has instructed all the station in-charges to take effective action against the drug smugglers, along with identifying the illegal property acquired by the criminals who are continuously active in drug smuggling, and ensuring action to confiscate their illegal property by conducting financial investigation against them under NDPS Act Section 68 (f). In continuation of the above instructions, the police arrested Shivam Gupta, a vicious drug smuggler of Cobra Gang, who was arrested by the police in March 2024 with illegal drugs and several cases of drug smuggling and other crimes have been registered against the accused in the past as well and the accused was earlier imprisoned by the police in District Jail Sudhowala for 09 months under Pit NDPS Act for being involved in drug smuggling. Necessary guidelines were given by SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh to identify the illegal property of the said accused and ensure the process of its confiscation. On which financial investigation was started by the police against the accused under the NDPS Act. During the financial investigation, the police obtained information about the movable and immovable properties of the accused located at different places in Dehradun, in which it was found that the accused had a plot worth Rs 25 lakh in Dehradun Khas, two plots worth about Rs 45 lakh and Rs 15 lakh in Mehuwala Mafi, three vehicles worth Rs 11 lakh and about Rs 3 lakh 20 thousand in different bank accounts.
The report of identification of the said illegal property of the accused was sent by the police to the Competent Authority and Administrator SAFEM (FOP) Act and NDPS Act Delhi. On which the concerned authority gave orders to freeze the property illegally acquired by the accused. The report of which has been sent by the police to the Registrar Office, RTO Office, banks and other related departments, so that the accused cannot use or buy or sell the said illegal property.
This is the first action of confiscation of illegal property of any drug smuggler in Dehradun district under the NDPS Act. Earlier, while being SSP STF, SSP Dehradun himself had initiated financial investigation against Bareilly gang for the first time in Uttarakhand under NDPS Act Section 68 (f), the accused Shivam Gupta was imprisoned for 09 months under FIT NDPS in District Jail Sudhowala. Apart from this, on the instructions of SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh, Dehradun Police arrested 02 other accused involved in illegal drug trade from Patel Nagar and Raipur area, 01: Amarkant Atiwal alias Dola and 02: Mohsin Rao, under the NDPS Act, in District Jail Sudhowala. Financial investigation is also being conducted against them to identify their illegal property.
