Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj’s Mahanirvan festival was celebrated with reverence and devotion

Dehradun: Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj’s 339th Mahanirvan festival was celebrated on Sunday with full reverence, devotion and traditional customs. On this occasion, the head of Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj, Shrimahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj performed special worship and revealed the importance of Guru’s glory and Guru’s grace to the devotees. Shrimahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj said that “Guru is the Supreme Being, we can attain God only with the knowledge and guidance of the Guru. The path of spirituality is incomplete without the Guru. The life of a disciple is meaningful only with the grace of the Guru.” On Sunday, on the occasion of Mahanirvan festival, offerings were made to Shri Guru Maharaj Ji on the banks of the holy pond (Sarover) located in the premises of Shri Jhandeji. After this, 17 priests worshipped with rice, milk, honey, Ganga water, ghee and sugar and remembered the glory of the Guru. After the worship, fruits were distributed to the devotees and a special langar was organized. Thousands of devotees from the country and abroad bowed their heads at the Samadhi Sthal of Guru Maharaj and received his blessings. In the evening, prasad of halwa-puri and churma was distributed to the devotees. The team of doctors of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital provided health services to serve the devotees.
It is worth mentioning that Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj was born on the Panchami of Chaitra month in 1646 AD and he came to Dehradun in 1676 AD. Shri Guru Maharaj Ji sanctified Dehradun by making it his workplace. This city got its name from his camp. On Bhadrasudi 8 Samvat 1744 (4 September 1687) while meditating on God, he merged into God. Considering the soul of Shri Guru Maharaj Ji immortal, the devotees serve the Samadhi and since then the devotees have been serving his Samadhi and every year celebrate this day with reverence as Mahanirvana festival. On this occasion, Shrimahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj prayed for the happiness, prosperity, peace and blessings of the Guru to remain on the countrymen.
105 units of blood donated in voluntary blood donation camp
The devotees donated 105 units of blood in the voluntary blood donation camp dedicated to Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj. On the occasion of Mahanirvana festival of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj, Mahakal Seva Samiti organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital Blood Bank.
In the blood donation camp, Param Pujya Shrimahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. Shri Maharaj Ji honored the blood donors by giving them mementoes and blessed everyone. He praised the creative and social work being done by Shri Mahakal Seva Samiti. Men and women donated blood enthusiastically in the camp. During this, renowned Bhagwatcharya Shri Subhash Joshi, Sanjay Garg, Naveen Gupta, Vivek Mohan Srivastava from Shri Prithvinath Sevadal and Roshan Rana, Hemraj Arora, Vinay Prajapati, Ayush Jain, Gaurav Jain, Balkishan Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Nitin Agarwal, Rahul Mata, Vikram Chaudhary, Kritika Rana, Anushka Rana etc. from Mahakal Seva Samiti were present.
