Major Police Action in Brigadier Mukesh Joshi Murder Case: One Criminal Injured in Encounter, Two Arrested
The police have achieved a major breakthrough within the jurisdiction of the Rajpur Police Station in Dehradun. Acting on intelligence regarding suspects involved in the murder of Brigadier Mukesh Joshi the police launched an intensive search and checking operation. During this operation, the police received information regarding suspicious activity by criminals near Johri village.
A police team pursued the criminals, who fled toward the forest area of Guniyal village. The police apprehended one criminal at the scene, while the other opened fire on the police team in an attempt to escape.
The police retaliated in self-defense; during the ensuing exchange of fire, the criminal sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was injured. The injured criminal was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. A pistol was also recovered from the possession of the criminal at the crime scene.
Upon receiving news of the incident, Pramendra Singh Dobal (SSP Dehradun) and Pramod Kumar (SP City) arrived at the location and inspected the crime scene. Subsequently, the officials visited the hospital to inquire about the injured criminal’s treatment from the doctors and obtained a detailed briefing on the entire sequence of events from the police officers.
Identification of the Arrested Criminals:
Mohammad Kavish Hussain Tyagi, son of Tosim, resident of Amba Vihar village, Khalapar Police Station, District Muzaffarnagar (Age: 22 years) — Injured in the encounter.
Shantanu Tyagi, son of Vinay Tyagi, resident of Madhki village, Behat Police Station, District Saharanpur (Age: 21 years).
The police are conducting further investigations into the case, and a search for other potential accomplices remains underway.
