Special plantation campaign conducted in SGRR University on Harela festival

 Message of environmental protection given

Dehradun: Harela festival, a symbol of Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage and love for nature, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU), Dehradun. On this occasion, a special plantation campaign was organized by the NSS wing of the university, which aimed to promote nature conservation and environmental awareness.

This plantation campaign was held at two major sites, the agricultural area of the university, Pathribag campus and Matawala Bagh. In this, the students of the university, faculty members, NSS coordinators, deans and directors, chief proctor and other officials participated enthusiastically. Everyone together planted plants of different species and celebrated Harela festival as a connection with nature.

Dean of Agriculture Department Dr. Kamla Dhyani, Dr. Naveen Gaurav, Shri Ravindra Kumar along with NCC ANOs of both boys and girls wings played an important role in making this campaign successful. The aim of the programme was not only to plant saplings but also to develop a sense of sensitivity and responsibility towards environmental conservation among students and society. 

This green initiative of the university is not only a step towards increasing greenery but also reflects the sustainability and environmental commitment of SGRRU. On this occasion of Harela festival, this effort of SGRR University has come out as an inspirational message towards the environment.
