To realize the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand’s vision of *”Drug Free Devbhoomi 2025″*, SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh has directed all subordinates to identify the accused involved in illegal drug trafficking in their respective areas and take strict legal action against them.
In compliance with the above orders, the police is continuously running campaigns against such accused in all police station areas of the district and taking legal action. Earlier on 18-05-24, on the information of an informer, during checking near Kudkawala Basti Doiwala, an accused Tahira Khatoon alias Chhoti, wife of Zakir Hussain, resident of village Nai Basti Kudkawala, Police Station Doiwala, District Dehradun, age-35 years, was arrested after 259 grams of illegal smack was recovered from her and a case under FIR No. 169/24 under sections 8/21/27/29 of NDPS Act was registered at Kotwali Doiwala and she was sent to jail. During interrogation of the arrested accused, it came to light that the accused had bought the recovered smack from Zakruddin, son of Sakruddin, resident of Majnupur Kamuwa, District Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, on which the accused Zakruddin was named in the above case under section 29 of NDPS Act. Accused Zakruddin was continuously absconding to avoid his arrest since the incident. For his arrest, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, gave necessary instructions to the police team constituted at Doiwala police station. In compliance with which, the police team activated the informer network while conducting searches/searches for the arrest of the accused. Also, with the help of electronic surveillance, continuous raids were conducted at all the possible hideouts of the accused, but the accused was continuously changing his hideouts to avoid his arrest.
As a result of continuous efforts made by the police team, on the information of the informer, on 25-11-2025, the police team arrested the accused Zakruddin, son of Sakruddin, resident of Majnupur Kamuwa, District Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, age 45 years, from Jhumka Chowk, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. During interrogation, the accused admitted to selling 259 grams of smack to the previously arrested female accused, Tahira, and also disclosed selling large quantities of illegal smack to several other individuals in other states. During interrogation, the accused stated that he had never been arrested by the police before. During interrogation, the police obtained information regarding several other drug traffickers, and action is being taken against them.
