*SSP Doon’s strategy once again proved effective against criminals*
*Doon Police arrested two absconding accused, including the main accused, in the case of a student’s death in a fight in the Premnagar area.*
*Doon Police arrested two accused, each carrying a reward of 25,000 rupees, from West Bengal.*
*Four accused involved in the incident were previously arrested and sent to jail.*
*During interrogation of the previously arrested accused, the names of two accused involved in the incident came to light.*
*Due to the accused’s continued absconding, SSP Dehradun announced a reward of 25,000 rupees each for the absconding accused.*

Date On the night of 23/03/2026, in Kehri village, Premnagar, in a fight between two groups of students, a youth was seriously injured and died in the hospital during treatment. On the basis of the complaint given by the family members of the deceased youth, a case was registered at Police Station Premnagar under FIR No. 55/26 Section 3(5)/61(2)/103(1)/191(2) BNS.
Taking prompt action in the above incident, the police had earlier arrested and sent to jail the four accused involved in the incident, 1- Yuvraj Kumar 2- Madhur Khandelwal 3- Shivam Sharma and 4- Ankit Bhardwaj. On the basis of evidence obtained during interrogation and investigation of the accused, names of other accused involved in the incident came to light, for whose arrest police teams were continuously conducting raids in other states, but the accused were continuously changing their hideouts in different states to avoid their arrest. As the accused were continuously absconding, a reward of Rs 25,000 each was announced by SSP Dehradun on all the absconding accused.
Under the *”Operation Prahar”* currently underway, SSP Dehradun has directed all the station in-charges to take effective action by forming teams for the arrest of active/wanted accused in their respective police stations. In this sequence, for the arrest of the absconding accused with a reward, the police team formed at Police Station Premnagar conducted a search and collected important information through surveillance and other means and continuously gave dobies in different states by the police team. Based on the information received, the absconding main accused along with 02 wanted accused, 01: Prahlad Raj son of Vinay Singh and 02: Ankur Singh son of Purushottam Singh were arrested from Akash Resort Purulia Police Station Bangmundi, West Bengal. They are being produced before the court and brought to Dehradun on transit remand.
