*Dehradun: District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police went to know the condition of the city’s traffic system and toured the city on the same bike.*

*DM took the responsibility of bringing the traffic system, which has become the biggest problem of Dehradun city, back on track. DM Savin Bansal and SSP Ajay Singh came on the road to bring the traffic system back on track.* 

*Instructions were given to beautify the main intersections in the city and to develop those intersections which can be developed.* 

*Instructions were given to explore the possibilities of small parking lots in other areas of the city including Paltan Bazaar.* 

*Instructions were given to build pink booths and pink toilets at Paltan Bazaar and CMI Chowk.* 

*DM himself came on the road to get rid of traffic jams. He gave instructions to identify and remove the components and structures responsible for the traffic jams and to explore the possibilities of a footover bridge.* 

*The condition of waterlogging in the city roads was also reviewed.* 

*Future action plan will be prepared only after the suggestions of the public and the opinion of respected public representatives.* 

*Instructions were given to the agencies working on the sewer and drinking water lines in the city. Instructions, all agencies should first repair the previously dug roads, only then will permission be given for further work, if flaws are found, those responsible will be held accountable.*

District Magistrate Savin Bansal and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh jointly inspected the city today on a motorcycle. First of all, the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police reached Ghantaghar on the same motorcycle from the District Magistrate’s residence, where they saw the possibilities for getting rid of traffic jams and parking arrangements. They inspected Paltan Bazaar on foot from Ghantaghar, where the District Magistrate instructed to keep Paltan Bazaar encroachment free, and also instructed to identify small spaces for parking. He instructed to identify and remove the components and structures responsible for traffic jams in the city and to explore the possibilities of a footover bridge. 

The District Magistrate instructed the implementing agencies to first repair the roads dug for the ongoing sewer and drinking water line works in the city, only then will permission be given for further works. On complaints of waterlogging and potholes on the roads, the concerned were warned to repair the roads, otherwise action will be taken. 

 

 The District Magistrate inspected Bindal Chowk, Ballupur Chowk, Balliwala Chowk from Ghantaghar and got to know about the status of traffic problems, parking and waterlogging and also directed to make an effective action plan to improve it. The city was divided into 04 zones for resolving traffic problems, waterlogging, potholes on roads etc., which will be inspected by the District Magistrate at any time, for this the officers have been instructed to resolve the problems in a timely manner. He also directed to do beautification work of the intersections. During the inspection, the District Magistrate directed to build pink booths in Paltan Bazaar and CMI Chowk and also directed to build separate toilets for women in Paltan Bazaar. 

During the inspection, Superintendent of Police City Pramod Kumar, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, Superintendent of Police Traffic Mukesh Kumar, Police Circle Officer Anuj Kumar along with related officers and personnel were present.
