*Uttarakhand Police CID arrested Anil Kumar Tiwari, a wanted accused with a reward of ₹50,000, from Mumbai in connection with the fraud of lakhs of rupees committed by Dhenu Agro Producer Limited.*
Achieving a significant breakthrough in the case of widespread financial fraud committed by Dhenu Agro Producer Limited, Jwalapur, Haridwar, against local citizens in the name of RD and fixed deposits, *Uttarakhand Police CID – Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) has arrested Anil Kumar Tiwari, a wanted accused with a reward of ₹50,000, from Kalyan, District Thane (Maharashtra).*
*In the above case, FIR No. has been registered at Kotwali Police Station, Jwalapur, Haridwar district. Case No. 164/2018, under sections 406/420 of the Indian Penal Code, is registered and is being investigated by the EOW, CID Sector, Dehradun.*
The investigation revealed that Dhenu Agro Producer Limited, Jwalapur, Haridwar, defrauded local residents of approximately ₹12,26,800 by issuing various bonds/certificates in the name of RD and fixed deposits. The company’s directors—Anil Kumar Tiwari and Devendra Prakash Tiwari—were found guilty under sections 406, 420, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code, the Uttaranchal Depositors’ Interest Act 2005, the Chit Funds and Money Laundering (Banning) Act 1978, and the Reserve Bank of India Act.
During the investigation, the Additional Director General of Police announced a reward of ₹50,000 each for the two wanted accused. Teams were sent to various locations to continuously search and investigate for the arrest of the accused, Anil Kumar Tiwari, son of the late Jageshwar Tiwari, resident of A-1597 1.10 Awas Vikas Colony, Hanspuram, Naubasta, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh (Managing Director), and Devendra Prakash Tiwari, resident of A-1508 LIG Awas Vikas Colony, Hanspuram, Naubasta, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh (CO).
Both accused had been absconding for nearly seven years. A total of 10 criminal cases are registered against them, nine of which are registered in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Continuous efforts were made to arrest them, and teams were sent to possible locations.
On December 7, 2025, a team formed under the direction of Divisional Officer Manoj Kumar Thakur of the CID Division, Dehradun, acting on information from an informant, arrested accused Anil Kumar Tiwari from Kalyan, Mumbai. Transit remand has been obtained after presenting him before the local court in Thane, and the accused is being brought to Haridwar for further action.
