♦️*Effective action taken against 180 fake social media links (Facebook pages, Instagram accounts) and 52 suspicious mobile numbers and has them blocked*

♦️**Strict monitoring of suspicious websites; 10 suspicious websites operating in the name of helicopter ticket booking have also been deactivated.**

♦️ *Charges have also been filed against 147 link operators and 27 fake mobile phone holders from one state under various sections*

In view of the Chardham Yatra, which is held annually in Uttarakhand, the Special Task Force (STF) has launched a comprehensive operation to ensure the safety of pilgrims. A campaign is being launched against cybercriminals at the state level.

Cyber criminals attempt to defraud devotees by creating fake websites, fake Facebook ad pages, and Instagram accounts in the name of helicopter services to the Char Dham, primarily Kedarnath. In many cases, devotees fall prey to these frauds and suffer financial losses.

 

To effectively curb these criminal activities, *in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, a special “Social Media Monitoring and Action Team”* has been formed under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police, STF, Ajay Singh, which is continuously monitoring digital platforms.*

 

Social Media*

During the action against social media, the State STF has successfully taken down 180 fake social media links due to suspicious activities. Additionally, requests have been sent to the DOT to disable/block 52 suspicious mobile numbers.

 

*Monitoring Suspicious Websites*

Ten suspicious websites operating under the guise of helicopter ticket booking have been identified and deactivated, with a report sent to the relevant domain registrar.

Senior Superintendent of Police, STF, Ajay Singh has appealed to all pilgrims to book helicopter services for the Char Dham Yatra only through the official website, www.heliyatra.irctc.co.in/⁠�.

📌 Then, follow the official chatbot instructions and upload your travel details and required documents.

*Do not attempt to book tickets through any other website, social media link or WhatsApp message, otherwise you may become a victim of cyber fraud.*

*STF has adopted a zero tolerance policy against cyber crime and digital platforms are being continuously monitored.*

The general public is requested not to click on any suspicious link and in case of cyber fraud, immediately contact the helpline number 1930.
