Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s Cultural Week Concludes with Grand Performances
Dehradun: The cultural week organized at Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, with the aim of encouraging the cultural, creative, and artistic talents of the students, concluded today with a grand ceremony. On the last day of the week, a culinary competition (Food Fest) was organized, in which students enthusiastically participated and showcased their creativity and skills impressively.
The participating students captivated the judges and the audience with the attractive presentation and powerful expression of their dishes. Throughout the week, various competitions such as dance, music, fashion show, best out of waste, rangoli, and food fest were organized on the university campus. In this sequence, the competitions were held on February 7th at the basketball court of the university’s Patel Nagar campus, and the results were announced on the final day.
On this occasion, the Honorable President of the university, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, sent his best wishes to the organizers for the successful conduct of the program.
The program was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. (Dr.) K. Pratapan, with the lighting of the lamp. Addressing the students, he said that education should not be limited to books only, but cultural activities play a significant role in the all-round development of students. Such events develop self-confidence, leadership qualities, creativity, and social values in students.
The Registrar of the university, Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, said that the university provides ample opportunities for students to excel in co-curricular activities along with academic excellence. Events like the cultural week provide students with practical experience in organization, discipline, and teamwork.
Dean, Student Welfare, Prof. (Dr.) Malvika Sati Kandpal, said that cultural programs are essential for the mental, social, and emotional development of students. She informed that there was active participation of students in all the competitions organized under the cultural week.
The members of the Cultural Committee played a crucial coordinating role in the successful conduct of the competitions. All the students participated enthusiastically, making the program a great success. The program was attended by Dr. Priya Pandey, Chairperson of the Cultural Committee, Chief Proctor Dr. Ganarajan, Deans of all the university’s schools, heads of departments, faculty members, and a large number of students.
