To realize the vision of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for a *”Drugs Free Devbhoomi 2025″* and to effectively curb drug trafficking, the SSP Dehradun has instructed all subordinates to identify and take strict legal action against those involved in the smuggling/sale of illegal narcotics in their respective areas.
In compliance with these orders, the police are continuously conducting campaigns against drug traffickers and taking legal action in all police station areas of the district. In this sequence, on the night of 12/12/2025, during checking by Kalsi police on Koti Road, Kalsi, two individuals who were trying to flee upon seeing the police checking were taken into custody for questioning. During questioning, they identified themselves as Monu alias Sandeep son of Jagdish, resident of Dussehra Rasulabad, Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh, and Himanshu alias Harsh son of Meenu alias Ratnesh, resident of Malkapurwa Kahejri, Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh.
When asked the reason for fleeing, both accused could not give a clear answer. Suspecting foul play, the police searched both individuals and recovered a total of 300 grams of illegal smack from their possession. Both accused were arrested on the spot, and a case was registered against them at Kalsi Police Station under Case No. 30/25, Sections 08/29/21 of the NDPS Act.
*Details of Interrogation:*
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had procured the recovered smack from a person named Bunty in Madhya Pradesh, and they were transporting it through Kalsi to sell it to local drug traffickers in the hilly districts. Efforts are being made to arrest other drug traffickers who have come to light based on the interrogation of the accused.

1. Monu alias Sandeep, son of Shri Jagdish, resident of Dussehra Rasulabad, Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh, age 27 years
2. Himanshu alias Harsh, son of Meenu alias Ratnesh, resident of Malkapurwa Kahejri, Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh, age 18 years.

1. 160 grams of illegal smack from accused Monu
2. 140 grams of illegal smack from accused Himanshu
Total 300 grams of illegal smack *(estimated value approximately Rs. 90 lakhs)*
