A delegation from the Public Relations Society of India paid a courtesy call on Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (retd) at Lok Bhavan on Saturday and invited him to the 47th All India Public Relations Conference to be held in Dehradun from December 13th to 15th.
The Governor said that public relations can play a vital role in understanding and accurately expressing the soul of India, its cultural values, and public sentiments. He said that the participation of public relations is essential in realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India @ 2047, because without effective communication, the pace of development cannot be strengthened.
The Governor described the use of artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and other cutting-edge technologies as essential for the field of public relations in the modern era. He said that new technologies are meaningful only when used in a way that connects them with the roots of Indian culture and society.
He also emphasized that public relations should not be limited to simply conveying messages, but should also play a role in providing guidance and leadership. Emphasizing the effective and responsible use of social media, the Governor said that only positive, factual, and public-interest communication can guide society.
The delegation presented the Governor with a convention brochure and provided detailed information about the organization’s activities and objectives. The delegation informed that the main theme of this year’s convention is “The Role of Public Relations in a Developed India @ 2047.” More than 300 delegates from various states across the country will participate in the convention. Considering Uttarakhand’s silver jubilee year, special sessions will also be organized at the convention on the state’s development journey, achievements, and future prospects.
