*Dehradun, dated 06 December 2025, (Su Vi),* A cheque of Rs. 8,92,000 has been deposited in the name of the district administration of HDFC Argo Insurance Limited. While the companies that defraud consumers of loan insurance are on the back foot due to the strict stance of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, helpless harassed women, elderly people and children are getting justice due to the strict and fearless decisions of the district administration. The district administration has given relief to the insurance company HDFC Argo, which harassed Supriya, the widowed mother of a new year old girl. The sword of attachment is hanging over the head of the insurance company.

Recently, complainant Supriya Nautiyal, wife of the late Pradeep Raturi, pleaded before District Magistrate Savin Basnal on November 15, 2025, stating that her husband, Pradeep Raturi, had taken a loan of ₹8,11,709 from the Manager, HDFC Ergo GIC Ltd., to purchase a vehicle. The bank informed her that post-loan insurance is a mandatory procedure, required to secure any loan as per IRDA guidelines. The insurance was obtained from HDFC Ergo GIC Ltd. through policy number CI 24-14680 and Sarva Suraksha Plus claim number RR-CI 24-14680891. The insurance documents were never physically provided via post or courier. After the death of her husband, Supriya is being pressurized to repay the loan of Rs. 8,11,709/- taken by her husband from the bank and in case of non-payment of the loan, the vehicle is being threatened to be confiscated, for which Supriya requested the District Magistrate to take action against the concerned insurance company.

The DM has issued an RC of Rs. 8.11 lakh against HDFC Argos GIC Ltd. for harassing Supriya, the widowed mother of a 9-year-old innocent daughter, despite having an insured loan and has ordered that the loan should be waived within 5 days or else the property will be confiscated and auctioned. Following the District Magistrate’s warning and strictness, HDFC Argos GIC Ltd. has deposited a cheque of Rs. 892000 in the name of Tehsil Sadar. Similarly, other banks and insurance companies that cheat consumers are also on the DM’s radar, harassing people even after they have insured loans. Loan insurance fraud cases are reaching the DM, the consequences of which are universal, property seizure; auction; branch locking. In such cases, bank insurance companies have been seized in many cases.
